I feel so handicapped not to have internet access...now, I know why in the late 1980s, many pessimists lamented the eventual demise of the world because of the dependence on technology by humans. I think I've fallen into the techno-trap.
It's been 5 days since my arrival in Hong Kong and I must admit I'm still adapting to my new environment. One thing for sure, I, pretty much, know my train routes around this country and I don't really need the transport map now. Now, I guess I'll have to master the more popular bus routes so that I get an alternative to go home. Taxis are out of the question because they are very pricey and there are many toll charges to pay for if I'm travelling between islands. I was, in fact, thinking to myself that the toll charges work very much like ERP!
Food is not a problem here; the only "problem" so-to-speak would be the price attached to the food. Eating out is going to cost a bomb, so I believe I'll be a gourmet cook by the time my 2-year stint ends. Any guinea pig volunteers?
Till later...
