A. I'm not sure of the history of the building but if it were refurbished into a hotel-hostel, then I sure hope my ceiling doesn't leak. Apparently, somebody has been walking on the roof right above my room and it's dubiously scary why he is up there. Of course, my deduction is not without basis for when it rained in my first week here, there were pails around collecting leaks on my floor. Character? Maybe, but definitely acquired. *LOL*
B. Now, there's always a clause written in any lease that the tenant is liable to be charged for damages made in the apartment during the term of lease (but strangely not the other way around). Right, so the obvious fact would be, who in the right frame of mind (though the notion of what's right is debatable) would deface or destroy something intentionally? But I think I'd unwittingly overturned the blinds last night by ignoring the soft click sound I heard when at it. So, my fault right? But it also got me thinking about the case of depreciation, here, the quality and/ or durability of the blinds and the question of how many people have actually used it before me. And of course, I wonder now how much of my security deposit would be forfeited. Hmmm...
C. In a day of 70,000 thoughts and 500 occurrences, I should, technically, be least bothered about the blinds since my lease will only expire in December. My focus should be on how to finish the heaps of readings before every class and to start thinking about what research to start on, but no. I'm still short of one textbook which I'll have to get before my class on Thursday and it's absurd to think that the book costs more than the total amount of money I currently have in my wallet! Of course, I hadn't expect to land myself in this dicey situation of a money issue, but I also hadn't expect the bank to have to take more than 2 weeks to send me my Keycard (or more familiarly known as the ATM card). I do have the PIN though, so I'm wondering if I could just speak to the ATM and get cash from it (no, I'm just kidding).
D. So, between struggling to finish the readings and trying to understand them, sometimes I felt the urge to throw the books out the window except that the windows can't be opened. But I'm beginning to suspect that this non-ventilating source, not that the air is exceptionally fresh or whatsoever, could be the cause of my frequent sneezes these days. Maybe I should just wear a mask.
E. Evidently, if you should have figured by now, why it took me a while to respond to questions such as "How's the settling so far?" or "So, how [great] is life?" and the like, because I'm not sure if you're ready for an information overload but really, I'm settling just fine. *WINK*
