Are we there yet?

The irony of my liking for the outdoors is my almost always grouses about profuse perspiration, the frantic gasping for breath or how the UV rays are so bad for my skin. The incongruous pair began when I fell in love with netball at 12. Oh, how time has passed; it has been almost a decade and a half since I last played a full netball game. Always assuming the position of GS or GK, I kept my eyes on the pole within that tiny semi-circle.

Over the years, I took to walking, and the blinkers I needed in the semi-circle came off. The lush greenery of the peaceful parks enthralled my senses: the smell of the rainforest, the colourful flowers, the creepy crawlies... Oh, and how I would often lament on the urbanites' loss of the simple pleasure of nature in the hustled world.

And sometimes, goofy episodes may occur that would make the walks more memorable...

The soles of my Air Max came off after not having worn these trackies for 2 years.

What do you see?

See the moon and the stars
Look how far we have come
Look around at our faces they shine brightly in the sun
With our hopes and dreams imagine what tomorrow it may bring
'cause the sky's the only limit when you're not afraid to dream
What do you see?
