These days I don't find myself saying this anymore - "Why don't you put yourself in my shoes?" For a very simple logic, you just can't. You can't know how I feel, even if you go though the exact same experience, because you are not me. You don't hold ideas the same way I do; you don't look at things the same way I do; you don't react the same way I do. The difference in perception, acceptance and the like makes you and I, well, different. You can't say "I know" because you don't.
And most importantly, the fit of my shoes will always be different because they are my shoes, not yours.
