Monopoly

When I was 10, I thought Monopoly was just a simple game where one rolls the dice, gets money when one passes Go and buys some land and/ or property when one has some spare cash.

Today, I played Monopoly again, after...let's see, 5 years at least. And if you think it's just another simple game where one rolls the dice, gets money when one passes Go and buys some land and/ or property when one has some spare cash, well, I'll have to burst your bubble.

Cynically, I now believe that Monopoly is an ingenious creation that soughts to fulfill every man's secret desire to be a property magnate, a shrewd hotelier or a banker, offering cut-throat deals and taking huge investment risks (that one probably never has the chance to do in this lifetime). And do you know how to make it big on the board? One way is to memorise the entire rule book...
