Mothers' Day

I'm not a huge fan of commercialised special days, so to speak. So what if it's Mothers' Day this coming Sunday? It doesn't change anything; life goes on. True, there'll be celebrations throughout the world - most willingly, some coaxed, the remaining coerced.

Okay, so what's the big deal? Haa...not when you used to have a class of kiddos (yeah, bring on the looks of death, darlings...haha) who used to call you 'mum'. And even if it's just for the fun of it, I do have a sense of ownership over them. I'm serious - it's like this, there's always a consolation for teachers when things don't go well; we'll just tell ourselves, "Never mind. At least they're not my children." Apathetic right? Anyway, it's not like this with my Humans class of kiddos. They are, were mine until I...oh well, stupid move...anyway, I wonder if they're thinking of me too?
