What do you do when you see a missed call notification on your mobile? Do you call back or wait for the caller to buzz again or simply ignore it because you've already missed the call anyway? The same way we get missed calls on our cellphones, I think missed calls exist in our lives too, like drifting friendship owing to neglect, lost opportunities due to hesitancy and indecisiveness, or even complacency, you name it.
As 2007 comes to a close, I look back on the year spent, hopefully God-honouring and wisely, empathetically and true, and recounted my missed calls - failing to fulfill a promise made to Lady C, doing B when I actually wanted to do A and missing the whole point (and notwithstanding a tinge of regret), being totally tactless and hurtful at times to those who mean the world to me, demanding unreasonable expectations that ended in you feeling totally exasperated and basically taking most things for granted - and realised that I've been making the same ones repeatedly over the years!
But these missed calls also made me realise how blessed I am because you still love me for who I am, no matter what.
