Table for Four

The most comfortable size for any breakfast, lunch or dinner session, I've figured, is 4. Anything more or less just doesn't feel as right.

And the most suitable place to meet up is at a relatively quiet, tucked-in-a-corner quaint cafe that serves reasonably-priced palatable food and plays soothing music in the dim environment. Ahhh...the word that was lost momentarily - ambience. Buffets, I've decided, are an absolute no-no because they simply remove any intimacy element that is present in a la carte food sharing.

A lit tealight flickering, casting shadows on the nearby walls while friends catch up on the latest gossips and laughters that somehow seemed to dissipate while in the midst of the menacing rat race; where friends talk about anything under the sun, or moon, and cracking jokes so funny you'll still chuckle when you think about it the next day. And suddenly, even inane questions like "How is your fish?" sound so heart-warming.

But that in itself, unfortunately, is an airy indulgence.
