And I love reading Lifestyle (yes, yes, I read my Sunday papers on Mondays) with a cup of coffee and music playing softly in the background. Oh, and Tim Tams. And the neighbourhood's quiet too which makes it fantastic for pondering over what Sumiko Tan or Colin Goh had thought about the past fortnight; this week's Reflect is on love and education (2 of my most highly-valued issues in the whole world).
"Still, mental pain does fade. Time smoothens away the raw shock. The experiences that come with just living override what was once an all-consuming event in your life.
But unlike a physical pain that has been cured, a mental hurt haunts. Just when you think you have gotten over it, something triggers a memory and the pain comes flooding back." - Sumiko Tan
"While the goal of helping each child develop his own gifts at his own pace is laudable, often the kids are assessed on very artificially drawn criteria, and set up with expectations that can never be realised when they eventually leave their hermetic existence and rejoin the real world." - Colin Goh
Have a great Monday!
