Killer sneeze

While the Egyptian farmers wrestle with the authorities against the culling of the source of their livelihood, pockets of Mexican nationals find themselves in angst against a perceived discrimination by various Asian countries.

And the culprit, Influenza A, is seemingly under control, albeit the WHO's claim of the likelihood of the contagious disease becoming a global mayhem against an already gloomy backdrop of worldwide retrenchment and business downturn.

Clearly, the fear of the 2003 SARS nightmare that sent the world into more than a frenzied panic which also caused an unnecessary loss of lives was probably replaying in the minds of the authorities. And at the end of the day, I guess it's probably just human to rather err on the side of caution, and of course, more human to not be able to empathise with the measures taken by the authorities trying to keep out a pandemic at any cost.
