Do you mean what you say? Have you ever heard comments which are not really pleasant and the speaker brushes them off with a "Just kidding." Somehow, I wonder if they actually mean it, but have to brush it off so nonchalently because they're afraid that their comment(s) would offend others. And if it happens too many a times, I can't help but wonder why some people choose to speak like that.
