I write to you...

I've completely run out of things to blame.  And now, I'm adamant it must be my less-than-6-month-old pillow.  It simply can't be something else.  No, I'm sure it's not the programme on the free-to-air channels and their special hypnotic effects (and I thought 3D tv is the in thing...no?), nor is it the sleep-inducing weather in tropical Singapore.  I reckon it can't possibly be my squeaky bed of 10 years though I've only managed to clock 7 or less years with it or my newly painted odour-less (not odourless) bedroom in Lavender Charm.  So it has got to be the pillow!  And if I'm ever tempted to write a complaint letter, which I'm doing now in my head, it'll probably go like this:

Dear Sir,

I would like to extend my heartiest gratitude for the marvellous invention of the microgel pillow that has accompanied me well on many moons.  It has by far induced more dreams that I can wish for, the epitome of such dreams can briefly be described to include being chased after by angry homeless dust mites and gunny-sacked by the usually skeletal pillow protector because I made her look fat.  And now, the microgels are on strike because their demand for more days off has not been met.  I am more than thankful that you've delivered more than you'd promised - a stiff neck.

Yours sincerely,
Princess J
PS: And I thought the pea was bad...

No-frills airline, anyone?

So news has it that hundreds of British travellers and thousand others from Canada and Hong Kong were stranded this week when Oasis Hong Kong Airlines cancelled all flights with immediate effect after reporting an accumulated loss of about £60 million pounds since its operations some 18 months ago, the latest of the low-cost carriers to call it quits, following the bust of 4 other US carriers last month.

Perhaps low-cost carriers should consider emulating their operations like the one in this video to stay in business. Have a good laugh!

FUZZY logic

So just now in the crowded train cabin from Orchard, I found myself in a strange predicament where I came face-to-face with the fuzzy axilla of a slender man with short cropped hair. With everybody literally sardinized, I'd certainly wished I could have rested my eyes on something more alluring. No prize for guessing the correct scent(s) my nose picked up at that moment. Of course I'd held my breath, what benefit of the doubt?!! What were you thinking?

Maybe I was on an OD after journeying through one station, but I sure had to resist the urge to tap on Mr Fuzzy's shoulders and tell him to perhaps consider de-gorilla-ing his armpits. Honestly!

Overheard

And so I happened to sit through a phone conversation yesterday, which I would probably coin as playful banter but otherwise totally suitable for a PG-audience. It was pretty hilarious too (if you heard it live). Of course, I can only guess what duh utter was on the other side:

Ms Oblivious(-to-the-Existence-of-another-human-being):
Hello?

Mr X: ...

Ms Oblivious(-to-the-Existence-of-another-human-being):
I'm cutting my nails.

Mr X: ...

Ms Oblivious(-to-the-Existence-of-another-human-being):
A cat always needs to sharpen her claws in case an enemy attacks.

Mr X: ...

Ms Oblivious(-to-the-Existence-of-another-human-being):
Duh? The dog.

Mr X: ...

Ms Oblivious(-to-the-Existence-of-another-human-being):
Never mind. So, why did you call me?

Mr X: ...

Ms Oblivious(-to-the-Existence-of-another-human-being):
Never mind. Bye...

Midweek Spo(r)t

I was cruising the Net when I came across this which made me almost fall off my chair laughing.

Have a giggly Wednesday night!

Oh, sugars!

On the train to Baby K's party earlier this afternoon, I felt a tap on my shoulder while minding my own business. At first, I thought it was a friend, but what I saw when I turned around was a strange-looking face - a woman in her 40s signalling to an empty seat and nodding earnestly at me. Baffled, I find myself literally going "what the...?" You see, yours truly wasn't the only one standing in the crowded cabin so why in the world would I deserve the empty seat more than someone else, unless...

(a) I don maternity garb (???).

(b) My fat tummy resembles a baby in gestation (OMG!).

(c) That lady's in REAL need of glasses!

Honestly, I'm not sure whether to laugh or to cry. In case you're wondering, this was what I was wearing:

...and of course I didn't take that seat lah!

002-Dial-a-Prata

I'll usually have my regular finger flexes during commercial breaks, but this is one ad I'd wished they would show at every 15 minute interval. Don't you just love the prata man? And do you know what makes it so special? I heard of it months (via an IDD call, no less) before I actually saw it!

Size DOES Matter!

This is my new bespoke TV console. Being bespoke, it fits perfectly in the space where I wanted it; it's absolutely in the right colour that matches the other furniture in the bedroom and it provides enough storage for all the Ds (you know, CDs, VCDs and DVDs) that belong to Edrea, Jo and Xiang. Pretty cool, isn't it?

Well, not until you find out what a cuckoo I've been!

So, things will have to remain like this until dear LG retires or when somebody inherits it.

Sigh...

Satirically funny!

"You are telling me, you know now Toyota has to also fetch the same price as a Lexus...is this a reason? I don't see this as a reason, you can't accept such a reason." - CASE's president, Yeo Guat Kwang, in response to NET's proposal to raise fee; NETS defended the hike (from the current 0.35 to 0.55 to July's 1.5 to 1.8 percent of the purchases) as necessary in order to stay competitive against international debit cards, which have higher charges and offer more attractive returns to card issuers.

Mozzies!

Do these pesky little creatures irritate the hell outta you? It's kinda ridiculous I'm actually giving them 'airtime' by even writing about it. But trust me, you can't imagine the most ludicrous thing that has happened to me during recess just now. I got bitten by a darn mosquito. Yeah? So what? What's the biggie? Well, try being bitten at your butt while you're peeing....that's what.
