The other F-word

When we are wronged, often our first reaction is to get even. Instead Jesus said we should do good to those who wrong us. Our desire should not be to keep score, but to love and forgive....so explains my Tyndale's Life Application Study Bible for Matthew 5:38 - 48.

Well, if you ask me, I'd say sometimes getting even comes with its fair share of the profane f-vocabulary.

And I can only lament what a strange teacher life is...

The last 24 hours had me fuming mad at Mr Anonymously Wadakok's comment. Is it necessary to be this curt? Here's something you need to know about me: I loathe rude people. And if you do not already know the linguistic connotation associated with the word period, let me explain. Period is used as an interjection by a speaker or writer to indicate that a decision is irrevocable or that a point is no longer discussable. And this is exacerbated by the part where Mr Anonymously Wadakok totally misinfers my sentence.

But like I've said, life is a strange teacher.

For it never fails to show me the other side of the story.

So while I was reading (and still fuming mad) just now, a familiar verse was literally screaming at me - "Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you" (Matthew 6:33). Okay, maybe I need to read Matthew, I thought. So, I flipped to Matthew and somehow stopped at page 1656. And this was when I read about Jesus' words on retaliation and about loving enemies. This, of course, is not my first read on Matthew but I sure wasn't as mad afterwards.
